Don’t let the unusual fur pattern fool you - the critter before you is in fact, a skunk. Much like the more widely recognized striped skunk, western spotted skunks put on a display when threatened, stamping their front feet before raising their back end in the air to show off their warning coloration. While they usually spray with all four feet on the ground, the western spotted skunk has been known to spray while doing a handstand. Photo taken @hoglezoo.
