わが家のお気に入りの一脚、シューメーカーチェア。その名の通り、靴職人が長時間座っても疲れないようにと工夫した椅子。この椅子の魅力は、長時間でも快適に座れること。使っているのは座面の高さが42cmのタイプで、少し低めですが、そのおかげで日常のいろいろな場面で重宝しています。たとえば玄関で靴の紐を結ぶとき。やや低めの座面がちょうど良く、立ちながらだと疲れてしまう作業をラクにしてくれます。

The Shoemaker Chair holds a special place in our home. As the name suggests, it's a chair designed with care so that shoemakers could sit for extended periods without fatigue. Its charm lies in the ability to comfortably occupy it for long stretches. We use a variant with a seat height of 42cm. It's a bit on the shorter side, but that makes it versatile in a variety of everyday situations. For instance, it's the perfect height when tying shoelaces at the entranceway, making a task that would otherwise be tiring while standing, a bit easier.
