At once tender and meditative, intimate and contemplative, Lucian Freud’s ‘Night Interior’ (1968-69) is an entrancing portrait of Penelope Cuthbertson, the daughter of Teresa Jungmann (one of the original Bright Young Things), grand-daughter of the artist Nico Wilhelm Jungmann, and wife of the late Desmond Guinness.
