The company was made up of 20 young women, all palace employees or members of the Royal Household, who met in a summerhouse in the garden. Princess Elizabeth was elected second of the Kingfisher Patrol, with Patricia Mountbatten as her Patrol Leader. The bracelet was gifted by Louis Mountbatten to his daughter Patricia in 1945, on the occasion of her 21st birthday.
