It seems there is so much pressure and stress put onto women to settle down and get married before it’s ‘too late’ and you get ‘too old’ to be loved; many settle for toxic and unhealthy relationships through fear of not wanting to be alone or left on the shelf. I too fell into this trap and got engaged at a young age and had a family just because everybody else was, not knowing that the unkind way I was treated was bad and unacceptable because I was too young to know any different. Because of this I recognise the importance of freedom and the absolute necessity to be an individual and live life without being controlled, abused or disrespected. Personal growth, self worth and inner peace is key to learning to love yourself first before thinking about spending time or energy with anybody else. I focus my time and energy in my everyday being beautifully uplifting, positive and good for my soul, knowing that whoever I choose to spend my precious time with is in addition to the lifestyle that I already love and have built myself. Please never hang your hopes and happiness on the actions of other people; establish yourself and foundations in life from within by finding your self worth, inner strength and self acceptance as everything will flourish from there. Because of this I enjoy my independence, feel confident in my own skin, do not seek acceptance, feel jealousy nor compare myself to others.
