Last week, some of you kindly joined me on a bicycle ride with Jezebel through the deserted streets of Washington, DC. It was four days before the inauguration of President @potus Joe Biden and @ジョー・バイデン Kamala Harris. We were together during an “Ask Me Anything” while on the never-ending we do… trying to feel something, anything of meaning, for a @ナショナルジオグラフィック story on the Ghostlands of DC. When responding to a question about why I am bored by the photography I’m seeing bring created, even the photography I make, we turned onto 10th Street NW. Out of nowhere, a spaceship appeared... a glowing square floating in emptiness. The sunlight reflected across potholes, tire marks, the lamps by a church ignited by the sun in a movie set with no actors. We stopped, parked in the middle of what usually would be a traffic-filled street. Mounted to Jezebel, the IG Live kept running while this gift of simplicity was given to us, in the expecting nothing, thankful for anything. A lone white car was in the distance and on the left another gift in the window of Madame Tussauds’ Wax Museum; A large photograph of the former president, @Barack Obama, tying in the narrative of presidents during last weeks most unusual inauguration in this countries existence. Quiet little tiny pieces within the vastness of abandonment. The photography from 10th Street is on the six video files. As we rode together, until Jezebel, in all my clumsiness, toppled over, spilling a precious cup of coffee. Enjoy the strangeness…
