Minutes before President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were sworn into office, Trump supporters arrived at Union Station in Washington, DC, a short distance from the Capitol building. What began as a reasonably harmless group that called themselves “Bible believers” turned into a rage. One moment asking for all to come to Jesus, followed in claiming false elections, horrid name-calling of Kamala Harris, and spewing racial intolerance. Fed up by what he was hearing, DC resident Bobby Blassingame (right) confronted Rubin Israel (left), and so continued the unpleasantness we’ve seen these last four years, delivered through falsehoods, conspiracy theories, and scornfulness. I don’t recall reading, ever Jesus speaking in the words I heard blasting through a megaphone three days ago, nor in such hatred and falsity. More could be achieved by enlightenment...through kindness, soft spoken words, and truth.
