”Save your tears for the stage."
These words are by my dearest ballet teacher, and I miss her so much.

My lovely friend and gorgeous dancer @kyliesheaxo and I were in the same ballet company under artistic director Mrs. Stander years ago, and Kylie sent me a very heartwarming gift in memory of her.❤️

Kylie wrote a children's book dedicated to Mrs. Stander, and after asking her followers to help make it come to life, 74 artists around the world (ranging from age 6 to 75 from 25 countries) came together to complete the piece.✨ The beautiful artwork and relatable story truly touched my heart and brought back so many memories.😌🩰

Slide 2 is from a performance back when I was 11 years old. It was a piece which I was selected to join and dance with the senior company members including Kylie! I remember being thrilled to be able to dance together, but I was also nervous and worried for the big stage. I wasn't confident dancing en pointe yet at the time and was struggling with a fast-paced challenging solo I was given. But I remember how Mrs. Stander, Kylie, and all the dancers would be so encouraging by repeatedly telling me "you're doing great, darling!" and "you've got this!" I wasn't able to dance it as perfectly as I wished, but I certainly enjoyed dancing it with all my heart.

Even though Mrs. Stander has left us, her legacy continues to live on. Whenever I'm going through a rough time, I listen to her voice in my head to lift me up. Thank you Kylie for continuing to inspire and spread the "Save Your Tears For The Stage" mantra worldwide.🩰💖✨

私の幼い頃のバレエディレクターでロイヤル・バレエ団出身の、もう亡くなられてしまったスタンダー先生の言葉です。
「生きていれば誰しも大変な事があるけれど、舞台に立つ時だけは最高の笑顔で楽しんで、舞台が終わってから涙を流しなさい」という意味が込められています。

バレエカンペニーの先輩だったカイリー (@kyliesheaxo)から、そんなスタンダー先生の言葉を綴った絵本とアパレル、そして手紙が自宅に届きました🎀

絵本はカイリーがフォロワーさん達に呼びかけ、年齢・性別・人種問わず、世界25カ国の方々から届いたイラストを繋げて完成させたものです。

2枚目の動画は、私が11歳の時にカイリーと年上のお姉さん達に混じって作品に参加させて頂いた時の映像🎥🩰 まだトゥシューズにも慣れておらず、ハードな練習や舞台へのプレッシャーで心が折れそうな時、いっぱい泣いたこと、先生とカイリーがいつも側で励ましてくれた事、どれも大切な想い出です。

スタンダー先生からはもう直接励ましてもらうことはできませんが、彼女から頂いた教えと言葉の数々は、今でも私達を正しい方向へ導いてくれています。
