I had the honor of being the bilingual MC again this year for the global event organized by the Japanese government, welcoming 300 guests to discover “new treasures” of tourism in Japan.
We had special appearances and words from Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Mr. Saito (Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism), Mr. Takahashi (Commissioner of the Japan Tourism Agency), and Mr. Norikazu Suzuki (Japan State-Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries), members of the House of Representatives, specialists from the travel industry, and US-Japan relations.
Mr. Hideki Matsui, a former professional baseball player at New York Yankees, was also in attendance! I spoke with the star on stage as he shared his memories of NY and Japan as well as his personal travel recommendations centered around his home prefecture, Ishikawa.

ニューヨークで、日本の観光や和食の魅力をアメリカに紹介するイベントに約300人が招待されました。日本からは、高橋観光庁長官、斎藤国土交通大臣などがご挨拶をされ、岸田総理からもメッセージを頂きました。
スペシャルゲストとしてニューヨーク・ヤンキースのレジェンドである松井秀喜さんをお迎えし、ステージトークで松井さんのご出身である石川県の魅力や、お気に入りスポットなどを伺いました🇯🇵
松井さんが外国人に是非行ってほしい場所は、石川、福井、富山、新潟、長野の軽井沢だそうです💡 今年の5月に日本へご帰国された際はご家族でゆっくり過ごされたというお話、本番前の打ち合わせでの穏やかなお人柄にも感動しました☺️
イベント会場のブースでは、日本政府観光局、日本食品海外プロモーション、農水省、国税庁、推進業議会など、体験型ブースも盛りだくさんでした。日本ならではの食や文化を実感できる素晴らしい機会にニューヨーカー達にも笑顔が溢れ、最高のイベントとなりました😊
