I so much miss the peace I find in the Arctic. When cut off from the noise and pace of our modern civilization, I can better appreciate and enjoy the rhythms of nature. It was a sunny, freezing cold day. Closing my eyes, it’s as if it was yesterday. I can feel the cold on my cheeks, the biting freeze on my nose, and the fragrance of the ice in my breathing. Today I have a greater appreciation of all the little things in life, things we took for granted but realize now are not guaranteed.
