So admittedly hyena do have some weird habits, but then again don’t we all? Okay, okay, sniffing each other’s genitals may be taking it a step too far! But they do have a good reason for it as this greeting ritual does establish and maintain the hierarchy which is incredibly important in a hyena society. So do I have to get down on all fours, lift my leg and expose myself? Fortunately not as hyena are also incredibly smart and know that I’m not a hyena but rather a weird looking bipedal who smells funny but gives awesome neck and chin scratches.
