These past few weeks gave me time to reflect on things but especially on things that really matter. Over the past year I found myself being increasingly distracted by social media to the extent that I wasn’t present and couldn’t focus properly. So this year I’m trying to control the amount of time I spend on social media during the week as well as taking that digital detox over the weekend. Social media is a great tool and serves an awesome purpose but it shouldn’t consume you and like a lot of stuff in life can be addictive, so needs to be controlled. It also doesn’t define who you are as a person, so don’t sweat it when a post, story, reel or whatever next is invented, doesn’t get the likes or engagement you expect. I know a good guy who produced great content throw it all in because of what I’m describing above. And if you haven’t watched ‘The Social Dilemma’ on Netflix, do yourself a favour and watch it.
