It seems like only yesterday that we asked the rhetorical question: “Did Pete Mel Just Catch the Wave of the Decade at Maverick’s?” (Actually, it was Friday.) And it seems like only last week we asked Mel the question: “What Does It Feel Like to Get Caught Inside at Maverick’s?” (Actually, it was a week ago Saturday.) And it seems like about a month ago, Mel caught one of the best waves of the year at Maverick’s. (That was December 8th.) And today...well, he managed to snag one of the biggest (tow) waves we’ve seen at Mav’s in a very long time. The Year of the Local?
