It’s the same essence — the energy, the power, the mana — that some people speak of when describing Waimea Bay.
Perhaps it’s what invigorates the land and animates the sea. But all people agree the essence of The Bay is best personified by a single Hawaiian waterman: Eddie Aikau.
And at the Opening Ceremony of the 2023-24 @theeddieaikau Big-Wave Invitational, you could feel that presence — that essence — as this unique, unified community of big-wave surfers gathered to pay their respects.
