In a normal season, the reefbreak at Haleiwa is tucked far enough away from the Pipe/Backdoor/Off-the-Wall arena to remain off the radar for most a-listers. This last few days, though, due to the onslaught of northwest swells, Aliʻi Beach Park has seen a number of super sessions -- including New Year’s Day, with guys like @ジョン・ジョン・フローレンス above. (Worth noting: if John John is surfing anywhere other than Pipe, chances are that spot is the best show in town. Also worth noting: we’re continuing to track these swells as they hit Hawaii and the West Coast.)
