I feel so lucky to have experienced and been immersed in a culture and cuisine different to that of my own. It allowed me to taste authentic Indian dishes lovingly made with secret recipes passed down from generation to generation with so much heart and soul. One year, despite being catholic, we had a full Indian banquet for Christmas dinner and it’s a memory that I will love and cherish forever! I too now teach my children to make their own homemade bhajis, pakoras, samosas, chapattis, lentils and daal from scratch which is a frequent in my diet as a vegan bodybuilder. Here I’ve rustled up some tarka daal with some fluffy white rice and onion, broccoli and red pepper pakoras from fresh veggies in my fridge.
