Photo by Matt Borowick @mborowick / The most famous road in Iceland is the Ring Road (Route 1), which loops around the country spanning over 800 miles (1,287 kilometers). Taking into consideration the constantly changing weather and road conditions, this is by far the best road to explore if you want to see the entire island in one go but have limited time. I wouldn’t advise cramming the whole drive into less than two weeks, but it is possible to drive it even if you only have a short weekend.
