It's also our first and last Christmas as a two (technically a four with Snoop and Lady, but you know what I mean).🎄 This time last year... Well, I was in South Africa ticking off my bucket list following the death of a friend. I was single, happily so, but I was debating putting myself on a dating app. People always love to tell single people that "you'll find someone when you're not looking" *even when you didn't ask for that advice and even when the person telling you met their partner on a dating app so presumably they WERE looking*... But I REALLY wasn't looking and hadn't been for so many years and I decided I wanted to invest some energy into it. Put myself out there. So I downloaded one, and ended up matching with this guy I knew from a while back... When I got back from South Africa, we met for a date. I was also getting ready to spend Christmas alone... I'd been through a lot last year, was working on establishing boundaries, and just decided it was something I needed to do for myself. We were meant to meet up one evening for another date... but I cancelled to put up my woodland themed Christmas tree. I mean, I was really in the zone and didn't want to leave it half done. Next time we met, he gave me a squirrel decoration to put on my tree. 🐿️ Fast forward a year (just under) and here we are in a national lockdown, putting up our tree together in November (sacrilegious for any other year), and preparing to give birth to our first child! I think none of us could have predicted the last 365 days.
