I started climbing in the late 90‘s and over the time I realised that height does matter in our sport. At size 5“05 or 1,54m I am much shorter than average which is alledged to be around 5“77 (=1,76 m). Some moves are totally out of my reach. However, in a few moves my small size came in handy because taller climbers get unpleasantly scrunched there.

In climbing, there doesn’t exist a „one-route-fits-everyone“ concept. Being too short can be harmful or helpful.
