The colorful silver-eared mesia is a species of bird from Southeast Asia. When foraging for insects and fruit, these birds will often congregate in groups of up to thirty individuals, sometimes joining even larger flocks of other species in the forest to form what is known as a wave. While they generally feed closer to the ground, mesias are occasionally spotted as high as five meters up into the canopy.
