Mirrors should instead stop and think a little longer before they reflect because they can either give us a false sense of confidence or make us feel utterly unworthy. How many times have you met such an incredible person who doesn’t recognise their worth and you think to yourself “if only you could see what I see in you you’d realise how wonderful you really are!” The true reflection of oneself is in the heart, mind and soul yet it is seldom seen in a world ruled entirely by appearance, popularity and judgement. Please look beyond the surface, through the glass and into the eyes if you really want to know somebody for who they are and not what they look like at this very moment on this very day. We need to realise that appearance, attraction and youth are only ever temporary and so we shouldn’t build our lives upon them - when they are gone we must have more about ourselves in order to feel loved, content and worthy otherwise we will forever suffer and dwell in the past at the “good old days”.
