It only seems like the other day that I had my birthday, then it was Xmas and we went into lockdown. In the blink of an eye here we are again! One year on and my life is immeasurably different now to what it was the last time that I blew out my birthday candles. I firmly believe in karma, personal growth and the power of positive energy and 2020 has blessed me with that in abundance. This past year has put me through such extreme deprivation - heartbreak, loss, abandonment and emotional suffering which ultimately led to the most incredible freedom, positivity, happiness, self acceptance and self worth. I went from feeling utterly worthless and unloved to now a million dollars, from crying myself to sleep at night fretting to laughing and loving everyday, from being constantly criticised and accused to celebrated and accepted for being wholeheartedly myself. This year has taught me so much about myself and the world around me and the highs and lows make it so sweet as we cannot truly appreciate one without the other. We seem to view loss in life as a bad thing, as a failure or unwanted negativity but in actual fact loss is absolutely necessary. Like the beautiful change of the seasons as the trees turn from green to gold and shed their leaves in order to survive the winter; they focus on their strength and roots and begin afresh in spring. The majority of people, things and experiences we have in life are only ever meant to be seasonal - serving a purpose before moving on, a part of the cycle of life. If we held onto every leaf forever the entire tree would become malnourished and die. Never resist or fight loss, it’s just nature’s way.
