(My audio engineer uniform👆🏼) Question to my computing comrades; do you care how masters sound on a cellphone? Every time I get it sounding great on the studio monitors/analog outboard gear it sounds blown out when I check on a phone. Since most people (unfortunately) listen to music on phones these days, I feel the need to adjust my master until it sounds good on iphone speakers, but ends up losing a lot of oomph and volume in main mix. Forget about not being able to hear bass- you guys have a solution how to avoid that ugly sibilant/granular peaking in upper mid EQs on phone speakers without compromising too much? Is it an internal gain staging issue? Or the compression in phone speakers unable to handle certain dynamics? Is it mainly the subs or the higher frequencies fucking them up? Aggghh
