Quenya is the Elvin language invented by J R Tolkien, loosely inspired by Finnish and Welsh syntax. (Most excerpts were written using the Latin alphabet, but within the fictional world Tolkien imagined many writing systems for his Elves. The best-known are the "tengwar of Fëanor", but the first system he created circa 1919 is the "tengwar of Rúmil", also called the Sarati.) When I was 13 I invented a language called the Runes Of Dylvana with my friend Eden using similar codexes- we used it to write secret messages back and forth our parents couldn’t decipher.
