Photo by @francescolastrucci A girl collects spring water in a spice plantation in central Goa, India. Goa is known for its beach parties and for its cultural and architectural influence from the time when it was a Portuguese colony. It also features some major spice plantations, which have existed for two centuries, growing different kinds of spice plants and fruit trees including cloves, nutmeg, cumin, curry, cinnamon, pepper, vanilla, coriander, turmeric, banana, coconut, pineapple, mango, guava, and papaya. Life runs slowly in the plantations, dictated by the rhythm of nature and the seasons of the crops, offering a real glimpse of organic lifestyle.
Wandering around the plantation, I was drawn to this spring not far from a farmer’s house. While enjoying a refreshing break in the shade of the lush vegetation, I decided to wait for someone to come and collect the water. Not long after, this girl arrived and gave me a sign of understanding so that I could photograph this idyllic scene. A touch of grace and serendipity within the daily life of the plantation, which she was enjoying as much as I was.
