And at this moment I was trying to locate the pass beyond the snowfields, wondering if I had enough energy to walk across them without losing my will, and with enough energy to celebrate the moment once I’d have reached the top. It was a surreal feeling to tell you the truth, something I could’ve never imagined before I actually lived it, because this was one moment I hadn’t even dreamt about in my life, for I never believed that I was strong enough to live it, experience it. I didn’t know one day as a grown up I would be crossing mountains, walking up in the Himalayas, midst snow fields and crazy views all around me. All I was told while growing up was to get a good job, and a settled life, where if I was lucky, I could earn enough to buy a decent flat in one of the metro cities and finally say goodbye to a mediocre life back in my hometown. At this moment, while staring at the pass, I wondered if I had made the right choice, if walking in mountains was enough to help me have a good life, or had I lost my chance to make it big in life. But one thing I was sure about was that I had to cross the pass in next few hours, and whether I had made it big in life or not m, wouldn’t have helped me in any way during my journey, but if I had the strength in me to negotiate the challenges that lay ahead of me, it was all that mattered. And I guess, this is all that would ever matter, irrespective of where I stand at every moment, because everyone’s definition of making it big or mediocre is different, and we can’t live our lives according to their definitions. So as you stand there, staring in the face of another challenge up ahead, just remember that yours or world’s view of you doesn’t matter, what matters is if you are willing enough to cross the mountains in front of you. And then, while living the dreams you hadn’t even seen yet, you’ll realise that you don’t have to run after a decent life, maybe you already are living a beautiful one.」9月13日 23時01分 - abhiandnow

It was a cold but bright July morning, as I stood there, somewhere above 4000 mts.

I was out of breath, carrying a 16/17 Kg backpack, with few more hours to go before I had crossed Bhabha Pass.

And then, while living the dreams you hadn’t even seen yet, you’ll realise that you don’t have to run after a decent life, maybe you already are living a beautiful one.
