Flamingos are always together in groups and constantly engaged with each other. By interacting they strengthen their feeling of togetherness and create a common brooding mood.
Up to 70,000 Caribbean flamingos live on the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula. Large groups of up to 10,000 animals can be found in some places. In Celestun they can be visited and observed by guided boat tours.
