Last week I sailed along the southern coast of my home island motivated by information on sightings of cetaceans published by project Viva Verde Azul ( @vivaverdeazul ) that monitor the passage of marine mammals from an observation point on land. And around 2:00 p.m. I was accompanying two fast-moving humpbacks when one of them began to jump between my sailboat and the shore. It's always a huge thrill to meet the whales here at home.
