The minus 30°C air interacting with the outflow of the Seal River created this beautiful steam among the chunks of ice that were forming in late autumn. Within just a few days, the sea went from a wavy liquid to a rock-solid ice pathway. This freeze-up allowed polar bears to walk out over the sea in search of seals to get their first good meal in four months. #bears #polar #ice #arctic #seaice
