When muscles are cold and haven’t been stretched to warm up before training they may be tight, stiff and far easier to injure. The gradual movement of bringing blood flow to a muscle, slowly but surely preparing it for what’s to come allows a stretch to safely start the physical tasks ahead. In life we are also uptight, set in our ways, rigid with our beliefs and sometimes unable to see things a different way or from another’s perspective - when this is the case we snap, break, fail and are left hurt and upset. We too need to stretch our minds along with our muscles. This year has undoubtedly been a very testing time for all, but I’m sure to have come as far as we have we have already stretched ourselves in some way or another. Now we work differently, think differently, live differently and maybe even love differently. My life has changed immeasurably in ways that I didn’t imagine possible; I am thankful for this change, the experiences it has bestowed upon me and the priceless lessons that I have learned and will continue to learn.
