I don’t have time for arrogance but I’m all for confidence in whatever form that takes - body confidence, self confidence, self love and self acceptance to name but a few. The mistake that many make about confidence is thinking “if I’m confident then people will like me” when in actual fact your trail of thought should be “I’m happy in myself regardless of what people think of me” because we place far too much importance and value on strangers perception and opinion of us. Do they know us? Personally? On a level? Intimately? No, of course not, their opinion good or bad is based purely on several seconds of judging our appearance and making an unfounded decision as to whether they praise or criticise what they see and who they think we are; spoiler alert - more often than not people will criticise you because of their own lack of self confidence and insecurities. So how do we fix this? How do we make people accept us? The long and short of it is you can’t, you can’t MAKE anyone do anything, and even if you could why would you want to? If it isn’t a true emotional that comes free and natural would you still want it? To be told what you want to hear but the truth of how they really feel doesn’t align? The best way to find and build confidence is to be happy in yourself first, live your life for you, love the skin you are in and don’t apologise for being less than perfect because nobody on this earth is!
