サザビーズさんのインスタグラム写真 - (サザビーズInstagram)「Head in the clouds... ☁️ Gerhard Richter’s celestial skyscape from 1970 draws comparison to the sublime skies for which Old Masters like J.M.W. Turner and John Constable were so famed, while also harking back to the heavenly church frescoes of the Renaissance. Yet for Richter, he hoped to reinvent the heavenly landscapes of his predecessors, channelling their works into a new contemporary vision in an effort to establish a legitimate place for painting in the post-photo age. In his eyes, clouds were nature’s own form of abstract painting, which he painted not from life but from a photograph.
