Photo by @jimrichardsonng Loch Cill Chriosd on the Isle of Skye was gorgeous on this morning. It is known to the locals as the Hairy Loch for all the grassy reeds growing in the shallow waters. There are lots of legends attached to this place: that St. Columba drove away an evil spirit in A.D. 570, that a shape-shifting water horse then took up residence and—in the form of a handsome young man—lured maidens to their death, and even that a Norwegian princess named Saucy Mary is buried on top of Beinn na Caillich. Don’t miss it, but be ready for the midges.
