Photo by Matt Borowick @mborowick The Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon, dating back over two million years, was created by erosion from water and glaciers moving through the rocks. It is located in southeastern Iceland near the town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, just off Route 1. The hike up to a viewing platform is quite easy, with safety measures in place and clearly marked paths. If you are traveling through the southern coast, I highly recommend a stop.
