Photo by @クリス・バーカード Auroras, often referred to as the northern lights, are a natural phenomenon due to disturbances in the magnetosphere caused by solar wind. Most auroras occur in a band known as the auroral zone, which is located fairly close to the poles. The northern lights are best seen at night against the dark sky. Winter in the northern regions of the world is the best time to catch this amazing display. Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, and parts of Canada are all good places to see nature's light show. Just make sure you are far enough north during winter on a clear night, and you can see one of the greatest spectacles the world has to offer.
