I’ll get over it but that’s how I feel. I’ve taken to posting on Stories sometimes frantically. I’m going to stop doing it because that’s about me trying to make myself feel better and not first and foremost about the people who are asking to be heard. I think my followers know I hear and see them. I understand the exhaustion of Black Americans when it comes to racism because after 45 years of being a social worker working with lawyers to interrupt it in schools, jails, prisons, courts, welfare and healthcare systems and 20 years of teaching about social justice, privilege and human rights, I’m exhausted too. And I’m privileged exhausted. I see so much passion in young people right now, my nieces and those I follow on this platform. I saw it in my students. The work is yours now. You have the energy and the will. It’s a new time and there will be new ways you will find to do the work. Ways that are uniquely yours. Thank you @barackobama for giving permission for me to say this. So I hope the work can start shifting from increasing awareness on to next steps, next conversations as many people are already taking action by protesting. The nature of this work is that it is never done. If you really take it on now it is work that must be done over a lifetime. Stay safe and be well as you do. #justiceforgeorgefloyd」6月2日 3時06分 - iconaccidental
