Dreaming and Loving

One of my favorite designers when it comes to my personal wardrobe is Dorothee Schumacher.

We’ve had a long distance mutual admiration society for a few years now. She’s based in Germany and I’m here in NYC. We finally got to meet in person during the last NYFW at a party she hosted with Interview Magazine.

What I love about Dorothee as a designer and a person is that she really gets modern women. Her clothes are the kind you keep in your closet for years. She’s smart, cool and caring and knows you are too. She just really really gets me.
Further evidence is the shirt I’m wearing. Coming as a surprise in the mail, she lets me know I’m not forgotten. She tells me she knows exactly what I’m doing the most of these days, loving and dreaming. She knows I’m an optimist. It’s just heaven when a designer makes you feel known.
The shirt is the product of a collaboration with UNWomen 100% of the profits will go to women impacted by COVID-19. For this designer those women are not forgotten either. Details can be found in the profile @シューマッハ
