I have a very long history with pearls. I was gifted a tiny bracelet of them on the occasion of my birth as they are one of the birthstones associated with the month of June. My grandmother brought me strings of pearls that became necklaces and earrings from her frequent trips to Japan. She told me stories of the divers who found them. Though I have several pairs of pearl studs I prefer earrings like the ones I am wearing here. Also a gift, they are a little different(like me)in their color and shape. When I toss my head they move and dance making me want to follow along. Almost weightless they make me feel free. After becoming tired of white shirts after 12 years of wearing them under a school uniform, I returned and wore them again when I was in my 30’s. When you wear a white shirt, no matter what you wear it with, it always stands out. Right now something about the purity of it is really appealing, especially if made with organic cotton. Red lipstick let’s others know you’re in the room. It announces your arrival. It’s a symbol of hope, power and strength. It’s a small favor you can do for yourself to change your mood. PS.
