Today’s breakfast is gluten free seeded wholemeal bread topped with smashed avocados, fresh tomatoes, superseeds, a drizzling of my homemade garlic oil and ground chilli flakes washed down with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice 🧡 It shocks me how many people avoid eating carbs and fats because they think they will lose weight - why!? Switch EMPTY carbs and BAD fats for GOOD carbs and GOOD fats and let your body function properly and serve you well. Did you know that avocados contain more potassium than bananas? They’re also loaded with monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) which keep the heart healthy, are packed with fibre to aid digestion and help to lower your cholesterol levels too! The high quantities in MUFA in avocados are excellent for the brain, protecting astrocytes which carry information in the nerves. Enough of these fad diets and starvation stints guys. Go wholemeal, seeded, full-grain, wholesome, organic, nutritious, natural, unprocessed and complete instead - if we look at weight loss the same way that we look at money we wouldn’t expect to take half of our savings out of the bank and become twice as rich, so don’t expect to take half of the food/fuel out of your body and become slim and strong. If you want it then earn it the RIGHT way with optimum nutrition, slowly but surely make healthy swaps to your lifestyle and you’ll be amazed at the difference that it makes.
