Photo by @stephen_matera | The moon appears behind Mount Hunter at sunset in Denali National Park, Alaska. At 14,573 feet, Mount Hunter is the third highest major peak in the Alaska Range. It is still over 5,000 feet lower than Denali, the highest peak in North America.
I shot this from a small airplane with the door off so I would not have to shoot through the plexiglass window. As the plane banked to turn, I looked straight down 6,000 feet to the glaciers below.
