Photo by @daisygilardini | On this day, while on assignment in Chile’s Torres del Paine National Park, the magic happened! We had the right amount of clouds and they were at different altitudes. It’s great when this happens because, depending on the altitude, the clouds catch the first rays of sun at different times. That causes different hues, giving the image more depth.
When photographing sunrises and sunsets, I always hope for some cloud formations in the sky. It has to be the right amount, though. Too few clouds will result in a boring image. Too many will obscure the sunrise or sunset entirely.
