The array moves and expands in the area to zoom in on an object or clusters in a pack to reveal fainter, wider targets. ALMA can be synched with several other telescopes across the globe to create a much larger radio telescope array to reveal some of the most challenging objects, such as a black hole in the heart of another galaxy.
