Desert Ice :: In the winter of 2014 I headed to SW Utah with @adamsonalpinist @jessehuey @angela_vanwiemeersch to do the unlikely, go ice climbing. Scott and a couple of others in the area had somehow found a treasure trove of frozen diamonds in the rough, epic ice climbs sparsely clinging to the sandstone cliffs that formed when conditions were perfect. Our mini expedition had us wading through waste deep snow, bush whacking in thick wilderness, getting lost, and rapping into icy slot canyons laughing it up. It’s a trip I’ll always cherish, Scott was tragically killed in 2016 in an alpine accident, a painful loss for all who loved him. They don’t make ‘em like Scott, an unstoppable force, tough as nails, fearless in the mountains, a hilarious personality and a heart of gold. This ones for you Scott, Rest In Peace my brother 🍻
