This was a high pressure shoot for me - Not because the creative was daunting, it was the importance of who I was filming with, @daveblackphoto. Dave has been a close friend and mentor to me since 2005, he’s always given me honest advice, critique and graciously opened up doors for me early in my career that I probably wouldn’t have had access to otherwise. I’ve always looked up to his work and I’m incredibly grateful for his friendship. Dave’s is also a sports photography LEGEND, a true master and artist. Directing this short vignette was nerve racking because I didn’t want to let him down. Pressure is a good thing, certainly in the creative world, because it motivates you to stay sharp, work hard and rise to the occasion. This was all filmed in a day so I showed with a tight shot list and a game plan to maximize the limited time we had.
