How soon should you eat before training? ⁣

The answer to this question will vary for every single one of you guys based on your bodies ability to digest food and your schedule. ⁣

I have personally found it most optimal, if the schedule fits, to eat a whole meal an hour to an hour and a half before training. ⁣

However, if you’re crunched for time (within 30 minutes or less) I refrain from eating whole whole meals, and like to ingest carbohydrates only to give me quick energy. ⁣

One of my go to time-crunch meals is a bagel and jelly. Jelly is a simple sugar and will help breakdown into my blood stream faster than a complex carb would. This will provide me immediate energy as I get to the gym and start my workout. The bagel is a slower releasing carb and will provide me with energy throughout my entire workout. ⁣
