My body no longer a prisoner to the disorder ⠀ My hunger no longer punishable by death ⠀ And a little more than that too. ⠀ My recovery coincided with losing my brother. the biggest role model in my life and someone who I was so proud to call my home. I lost him 5 years ago. ⠀ So as you might imagine, my recovery was for bigger things. Things beyond me. ⠀ And life wasn’t perfect after recovery. I want that to be made clear. But I also want you to know that it really doesn’t have to be. ⠀ Because each time I wake up and train, I feel my heart beat. It brings me to tears sometimes. That heart that never gave up on me, it’s still beating to this day. But now, it has my support. And it beats for greater things. Things beyond recovery, things beyond myself. ⠀ I’m alive. I’m well.
