I firmly believe hidden stress brings on illness. How do begin to escape the feelings we struggle with? First of all drop the guilt associated with taking time for you. Next schedule this time with the same priority you put into your families appointments and times you show up for everyone else. Last understand that if your not good, no one around you will be good either. This time you set aside for you is a priority. _ What is self care? It can be anything you do that makes you feel good. A workout, a nice bath with bubbles, music and maybe you can get your partner to read to you while you close your eyes and relax. (Lock the kids out) I used to go out with a guy who washed and conditioned my hair from the outside of the tub while I sat in a bath of rose petals. It was one of the most relaxing things ever. But that was a lonngggg time ago! Lol  _ Meditation is a great too. You can escape the whole world and visit another for as little or as long as you like. You can do it daily if you like too! You can try group guided meditation, hypno-meditation, 🧘🏽‍♀️ self meditation, the process is versatile for every individual. _ You can escape into a book for an hour. Read some type of fantasy novel and dive into your imagination. Start a hobby something your passionate about and love to do. My best friend loves making soap that’s her time for herself. She’s so passionate and puts so much love into it that she literally makes the most incredible soap ever. _ When I need to pour back into my cup I travel. I escape everything and focus on my connections (not human.) I do yoga, I exercise, I meditate, and I dance. I spend so much time giving to others which is what I love to do but I know I can only give from overflow so I make it a priority to fill my cup first.
