Thousands of antigovernment demonstrators shut down Hong Kong's airport, one of the world's busiest, on Monday after a weekend that saw some of the worst unrest in more than two months of protests in the city.⠀
⠀
Hong Kong's airport authority canceled more than 130 flights, stranding thousands of passengers, after demonstrators thronged arrival and departure halls, joining a sit-in at the terminal that has run since Friday.⠀
⠀
The protest movement that began over a bill that would allow suspects to be tried in mainland China has snowballed into a wider movement demanding more accountability from police and for the government to respond to their issues.⠀

the so called 'peaceful protesters' of Hong Kong continued occupying the airport, causing hundreds of flights being canceled, and they, brutally beat up a reporter from China mainland, TIED UP HIS HANDS AND LEGS, shined laser pointers directly to his eyes, imprisoned him illegally, and PULLED DOWN HIS PANTS SHOWING HIS INTIMATE PART, only because they had brutally searched his bag without permission and found a T-shirt writing 'I love Hong Kong police'. Facing hundreds rabid rioters, the reporter said courageously and calmly, "I support Hong Kong police! Now you can start beating me' . The reporter got multiple injuries (including HEAD injuries😡) and the rioters even blocked his way to the ambulance. 😡FREEDOM OF PRESS? FREEDOM OF SPEECH???RULE OF LAW??? HUMANITY???? 😡The world needs to know what really is happening in Hong Kong. #hongkong #hong Kong police #ilovehongkong #ilovechina #hong Kong police #police hk #hongkong #hongkong #hongkonger #hongkongairport

First of all, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. We are showing our anger today not only because of the erosion of ‘one country two systems’ in HK, but also the incidence happened on 12 June where a guy shot in eye with rubber bullet and on 11 August where a young woman was shot in eye with bean bag round, causing permanent blindness. We also feel extremely angry because we no longer feel safe in the city as HK police work with triads to indiscriminately attack HK citizens, brutally treat protesters, fire ‘expired’ tear gas in train station and some neighbourhoods and shoot projectile from 1m distance against protesters. We desperately strive for freedom and democracy and more importantly to save our beloved city. Once again, we are sorry for all the inconvenience.

I dont want to remind the HKers how happy you guys were when China recaptured HK back from UK in 1997. For the past 22 years, China has been supporting HK to become one of the largest cities in the world. HK as a city/region of China, hasnt paid even a penny of tax to China, only because of the preferential treatment that China provided.
If it wasn't because of China, HK would have always been a colony. Now you guys are talking abt independence, why didn't u refuse to come back to China 22 years ago? It's like biting the hand that feeds you all the time, very sad to see so.
I love China, including HK.

@popopollyho Hongkong people, you guys need to find a leader to represent you, in every revolution a leader is always needed. That way you guys will be more organized. If you're going to protest in the airport, do it peacefully. The foreigners who visited your country know what is happening and many of us support you guys, so do it in orderly mannerism, don't make them feel unsafe as they might misunderstood you. Don't let your opponent find a chance to twist the truth. I believe you will be free one day, fight for the future!

@popopollyho Come off it,this demonstration is far beyond control, destroying the social order, ruining your “beloved city”.Also,it is apparent that HK police show their calm, restrained attitude. It is you protesters that intensify the conflict, making a tenser situation.Honestly,HK police are one of the most restrained police in the world. If you stay in USA and try to attack or deliberately provoke the police, you will“eat real bullet”not“rubber bullet”
