Photo by @BabakTafreshi | Venus at dusk from the massive walls of Bam fortress (Arg-e bam in Persian) along the ancient Silk Road in southeastern Iran. The world's largest adobe structure, this 2500-year old World Heritage citadel couldn't hold on against a major earthquake in December 2003 which took thousands of lives in Bam. I was there a few months before the earthquake. Reconstruction started in the same year and progressing today.
