The Kudos are large, elegant antelope with impressive horns and white stripes on the flanks. The greater kudu's horns are spectacular and can grow as long as 72 inches, making 2 1/2 graceful twists. These beautifully shaped horns have long been prized in Africa for use as musical instruments, honey containers and symbolic ritual objects. In some cultures the horns are thought to be the dwelling places of powerful spirits, and in others they are a symbol for male potency. dominicwoolfrey It is always a sight to see when you come across a Greater Kudu in the wild. Saw 3 resting from the #African mid day heat on the a dirt road at #selousgamereserve in #tanzania. They simply got up, probably annoyed they were disturbed and slowly walked into the #bush. I love Africa for moments like that!
